Abstract

"Ef'al-i İbad", in other words, Acts of Man which is frequently used in The Study of Kalam, is a term that has been discussed in terms of its nature and word meaning. Sect of M'tazila is asquisced to have used this term for the first time, because according to Mu'tazila, acts are completely of human being. As a result of that, they used this term in a compound that means "acts of man". Afterwords, due to the fact that they weren't in the same thought with Mu'tazila, the people studying Ahl-i Sunnah Kalam who evaluated this matter, elaborated to use this term as "halku ef'al-i ibad." In this article of ours, we will try to put forth the difference of ideas between al-Maturidi and Mu'tazila and will try to interpret the evidences.
