Abstract

In recent years, it has been revealed through scientific studies that ethical values have been removed from all over the world and moral corruption has been experienced in the vast majority of the world. Especially in the schools it has been found that among the students, violence has increased, sexual harassment has been experienced, slang and abusive speech, copying behaviors are encountered very often and teachers' respect has decreased. The aim of this research, according to the teachers; The reasons for the reduction of the level of respect for the teacher in the society, what are the consequences and consequences of what is done, and what needs to be done to increase the level of respect for the teacher. In the study, holistic (single unit of analysis) design of case study designs was used. Findings were obtained by interview form consisting of unstructured questions. In the analysis of the data, a descriptive analysis technique was used. There were interviews with 65 teachers who worked in five secondary school. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the level of respect for the teacher in society has decreased in recent years. Decrease in the level of teacher respect ; Laws and regulations, families, politicians, school management, teachers, the development of technology, and changes in the value judgement of the society. Decrease in the level of teacher respect; As individuals carrying out work in educational atmosphere, it leads to a decrease in the motivation of the teachers, a decrease in productivity, and a graduation of the students without adequate and necessary education. In this research, increasing the level of respect fort he teacher; It was emphasized that motivation and productivity of the teachers would be increased and that the students would be provided with better and more qualified education. In order to increase the level of respect for the teacher, it is offered a suggestions such as making amendments to laws and regulations related to National Education, providing family education in schools, raising awareness of the society on teacher education, increasing the economic level of the teacher, not using contemptuous expressions of teachers in politicians' statements, and suggestions of teachers themselves are renewed.

Son yıllarda, bütün dünyada etik değerlerden uzaklaşıldığı ve dünyanın büyük çoğunluğunda ahlaki yozlaşmanın yaşandığı yapılan bilimsel çalışmalarla ortaya konmuştur. Özellikle okullarda öğrenciler arasında şiddet olaylarının arttığı, cinsel tacizlerin yaşandığı, argo ve küfürlü konuşmaların olduğu, kopya çekme davranışlarına çok sık rastlandığı ve öğretmenlere olan saygının azaldığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmenlere göre; toplumda öğretmene olan saygı düzeyinin azalmasının nedenleri, etkileri ve sonuçlarının neler olduğunu, öğretmene olan saygı düzeyini artırmak için neler yapılması gerektiğini tespit etmektir. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma desenlerinden gözlemsel durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Bulgular, yapılandırılmamış sorulardan oluşan görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde ise betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Beş farklı ilköğretim kurumunda görev yapan ve seçkisiz örnekleme yoluyla seçilen 65 öğretmenle görüşme yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, son yıllarda toplumda öğretmene olan saygı düzeyinin azaldığı tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmene olan saygı düzeyinin azalması; yasa ve yönetmelikler, aileler, siyasetçiler, okul yönetimi, öğretmenler, teknolojinin gelişmesi, toplumun değer yargılarının değişmesi gibi etkenlerden kaynaklanmaktadır. Öğretmene olan saygı düzeyinin azalması; eğitim-öğretim ortamlarında işi yürüten bireyler olarak öğretmenlerin motivasyonunun azalmasına, verimliliğinin düşmesine, öğrencilerin yeterli ve gerekli eğitimi alamadan mezun olmalarına yol açmaktadır. Araştırmada öğretmene olan saygı düzeyinin artırılması; öğretmenlerin motivasyonunun ve verimliliğinin artmasını, öğrencilere daha kaliteli ve yeterli eğitim verilmesini sağlayacağı vurgulanmıştır. Öğretmene olan saygı düzeyinin artırılması için Milli Eğitimle ilgili kanun ve yönetmeliklerde değişiklik yapılması, okullarda aile eğitimi verilmesi, toplumun öğretmene saygı konusunda bilinçlendirilmesi, öğretmenin ekonomik düzeyinin artırılması, siyasetçilerin beyanatlarında öğretmenleri küçümseyici ifadeler kullanmaması, öğretmenlerin kendilerini yenilemeleri gibi öneriler sunulmuştur.
