Jamal al-Din al-Qonawi’s (d. 770/1369) Work Named al-Ghonya Fi al-Fatawa

Abstract

The Mamluk period was one of the brightest periods of Muslims in terms of develop��ppment in Islamic sciences. Compared to other periods, Islamic scholars in this period handled bulky works in different fields. One of these personalities living in the period of Bahrî Mamluks is Cemâleddin al-Konevî ed-Dımaşkî. The aforementioned scholar has written works in almost every field of Islamic sciences. One of these works is called al-Gunye fi’l-Fetâvâ. This work is one of the prominent figures of Hanafi fukahas Necmeddin Yusuf b. Ahmed al-Hamidzin (v. 634/1236), Kaadîhân’ın (v. 592/1196) and Zahiruddin al-Bukhari (v. 619/1222) by writing the works of el-Fetâvâ.

Özet

Memlükler dönemi İslamî ilimlerdeki gelişme bakımından Müslümanların en parlak dönemlerinden biridir. Diğer dönemlere nazaran bu devirde İslâm âlimleri farklı alanlarda hacimli eserler ele almışlardır. Bahrî Memlükler döneminde yaşayan bu şahsiyetlerden biri de Cemâleddin el-Konevî ed-Dımaşkî’dir. Sözünü ettiğimiz âlim hemen hemen İslamî ilimlerin her alanında eserler yazmıştır. Bu eserlerden biri de, el-Gunye fi’l-Fetâvâ adlı telifidir. Bu eseri Hanefî fukahasının önde gelen şahsiyetlerinden Necmeddin Yusuf b. Ahmed el-Hârezmî’nin (v. 634/1236), Kâdîhân’ın (v. 592/1196) ile Zahîrüddin el-Buhârî’nin (v. 619/1222) el-Fetâvâ adlı eserlerinden seçmeler yaparak yazmıştır.
