The Interaction between the Affixes and the Words in Serbian – Turkish and the Benefits of this Interaction on Teaching Turkish to Serbians

Abstract

Turkish and Serbian languages are two languages which have been in close relationship throughout the history. After the Turks settled in the Balkan’s, they transported the Turkish culture and civilization, with Turkish’s rich words and grammatical configuration. Until the Berlin congress in 1878 Serbia was under the Ottoman’s sovereignty, and there were approximately nine hundred Turkish words erstwhile. In addition to this,modern Serbian language has lots of Turkish quotations and all of these show the intensity of cultural contact between Turk’s and Serbian’s in the past. Communications of Turks and Serbians have started with Hun’s staying in the Balkan Peninsula and Serbia since 378 and especially after 558 with the Avar Turks. When the Ottoman Turks came to the Balkans, they encountered the natives who speak Turkish words which are used in the other Balkan languages. The Ottoman State attempted a serious architectural and cultural activities in the region with its social configuration, state order, production, education and rich artistic philosophy. The close contact of politics and their support made each city of Balkan’s a culture centre. The cities like Prishtine, Skopje, Prizren and Sarajevo became a reflection of Ottoman. Thus, Turkish became a language of art, reputation and requirements in the Balkans, Turkish became the language of art and science as an indispensable part of everyday life. According to research, it has been determined that there are over twelve thousand Turkish words in the other languages, and the most interaction about words were between Turkish and Serbian language. But this effect of Turkish has not impressed any other language neither grammar and words, nor phrases and proverbs except for Serbian language. Turkish takes intense interests in Serbia now in parallel to this common effect. Özet

Türkçe ile Sırpça tarih boyunca birbiriyle yakın ilişkide bulunmuş iki dildir. Türkler, Balkanlara yerleştikten sonra Türk kültür ve medeniyetiyle birlikte Türkçenin kelime zenginliğini ve gramer yapısını da bu coğrafyaya taşımıştır. 1878 Berlin Kongresi’ne kadar Osmanlı hâkimiyetinde kalan Sırbistan coğrafyasında bir zamanlar yaklaşık dokuz bin Türkçe kökenli sözcük bulunması, çağdaş Sırp dilinde hâlâ çok sayıda Türkçe alıntının olması, geçmişteki kültür temaslarının yoğunluğunu gözler önüne sermektedir. Türklerle Sırpların iletişimi 378’den itibaren Balkan Yarımadasına ve Sırbistan’a inen ve yerleşen Hun ve özellikle 558’den sonra Avar Türkleriyle başlamıştır. Osmanlı Türkleri Balkanlara geldikleri zaman Türkçe konuşan yerlilere, Sırpçada ve diğer Balkan dillerinde kullanılan Türkçe kelimelere rastladılar. Osmanlı Devleti sosyal yapı, devlet düzeni, üretim, eğitim ve zengin sanat felsefesiyle bölgede ciddî bir imâr ve kültür faaliyetlerine girişmiştir. Devlet adamlarının sanatkârlarla olan yakın teması ve onları desteklemeleri Balkanların her bir şehrinin birer kültür merkezi olmasını sağlamıştır. Burada özellikle Prizren, Priştine, Üsküp, Saraybosna gibi şehirler pâyitahtın yansıması olmuştur. Böylelikle Balkan coğrafyasında Türkçe sanat, itibar ve ihtiyaç dili hâline gelmiş; günlük yaşamın vazgeçilmezi olarak bölgenin sanat ve bilim dili olmuştur. Yapılan araştırmalarla yabancı dillerde on iki binin üzerinde Türkçe kelime bulunduğu, Türkçe'den en fazla kelimenin ise Sırpçaya geçtiği belirlenmiştir. Fakat Türkçenin bu etkisi hem gramer, hem kelime, hem de deyim ve atasözlerine varıncaya kadar Sırpça gibi hiç bir dil üzerinde bu derece etkili olmamıştır. Sırbistan’da Türkçe bugün, bu yaygın etkisine paralel yoğun ilgi görmektedir. Bu makalede Sırpçadaki Türkçe ekler, kelimeler ve bu kelimelerin anadili Sırpça olanlara Türkçe öğretimindeki faydaları üzerinde durulacaktır.
