The distribution and rates of occurence of predatory insect species in peach orchards of Izmir province

Abstract

In this study, predatory insects associated with peach orchards of Selçuk, Tire, Kemalpaşa, Torbalı and Menemen counties of Izmir province were determined during the period 2004-2005. For this purpose, a total of 402 samples were taken from different peach orchards at one month intervals from April through October vegetation period. As a result of the studies, a total of 51 predaceous insect species belonging to 8 families and 4 orders were recorded. The most abundant predaceous insects were Stethorus gilvifrons Mulsant, Scymnus subvillosus (Goeze), Coccinella septempunctata (L.), Propylaea quatuordecimpunctata (L.), Chilocorus bipustulatus (L.) ve Hippodamia variegata (Goeze) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae), Orius niger (Wolff) (Heteroptera: Anthocoridae) and Aeolothrips intermedius Priesner (Thysanoptera: Aeolothripidae) in all counties where samplings were conducted.

Özet

Bu çalışmada 2004-2005 yıllarında İzmir iline bağlı Selçuk, Tire, Kemalpaşa, Torbalı ve Menemen ilçelerinde şeftali bahçelerinde bulunan predatör böcek türleri belirlenmiştir. Bu amaçla vejetasyon periyodu olan nisan-ekim ayları arasında bahçeler ayda bir kez ziyaret edilerek toplam 402 kez örnekleme yapılmıştır. Çalışmalar sonucunda 4 takım ve 8 familyaya bağlı 51 predatör böcek türü belirlenmiştir. Predatör böcek türlerinden Stethorus gilvifrons Mulsant, Scymnus subvillosus (Goeze), Coccinella septempunctata (L.), Propylaea quatuordecimpunctata (L.), Chilocorus bipustulatus (L.) ve Hippodamia variegata (Goeze) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae), Orius niger (Wolff) (Heteroptera: Anthocoridae) ve Aeolothrips intermedius Priesner (Thysanoptera: Aeolothripidae) örnekleme yapılan tüm ilçelerde en yoğun olarak bulunmuşlardır.
