Abstract
The possibility modal that possesses a wide spectrum of functions in the Turkish of Turkey is expressed in the Kirghiz Turkish not merely by the use of the morphological form, but also by the grammatical functions of other forms. In the present study, various functions of the possibility modal in the Turkish of Turkey such as the expression of capability, probability, permission, or prohibition are compared to the functionally equivalent structures in the Kirghiz Turkish
Özet
Türkiye Türkçesinde pek çok işleve sahip olan yeterlik fiili, Kırgız Türkçesinde sadece yeterlik fiiliyle değil, yeterlik fiili dışında kalan başka dilbilgisel yapılarla da karşılanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye Türkçesindeki yeterlik fiilinin sahip olduğu iktidar, imkân, olasılık, izin~yasak gibi işlevlerin Kırgız Türkçesinde hangi yapılarla karşılandığı anlatılmaktadır
