On Tıltag and Ugur Terms Defining Cause and Reason in Old Uighur Turkic Language

Abstract
In Old Uighur Turkic Language texts, the word tıltag refers to the cause, reason and ugur refers to time, opportunity, coincidence, vessel, reason and subject. In some of the resources, tıltag and ugur are considered to be the noun- rooted prepositions, but can also be used without suffixes and can be often used as inflectional suffixes in that period’s texts. In this study The aim is to analyse the usage of both words tıltag and ugur in the contexts of that period, these words keep their meanings despite being used as nominative and with inflectional suffixes, however, if these words are used as prepositions such as tılgatınta and ugrınta, they can be considered as prepositions. Again in this context in the same category tüşinte and küçinte “thanks to” which are most of the time used with the words tıltag and ugur in the same sentence and also ötgürü ötkürü prepositions that mean because of and due to is going to be dealt with in the study.
Özet
Eski Uygur Türkçesi metinlerinde tıltag “sebep, neden” anlamında ugur sözü de “zaman, fırsat, tesadüf, vesile, vasıta, sebep, konu” anlamlarıyla kullanılmıştır. Bazı kaynaklarda isim kökenli edatlar olarak kabul edilen tıltag ve ugur sözleri dönem metinlerinde ek almadan kullanıldıkları gibi isim çekim ekleriyle de sık kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada tıltag ve ugur sözlerinin, dönem metinlerdeki kullanımlarına yer verilecek, bu sözlerin yalın ve isim çekim ekli kullanımlarında kendi anlamlarını korudukları, ancak tıltagınta ve ugrınta şekillerinin edat işleviyle kullanıldığı için edat kategorisinde ele alınabileceği üzerinde durulacaktır. Ayrıca bu yapıda ve benzer işlevde olan, tıltag ve ugur sözleriyle de çoğu zaman aynı cümlelerde yer alan tüşinte, küçinte “sayesinde” sözlerine, yine “sebebiyle, -den dolayı” anlamlı fiil kökenli bir edat olan ötgürü/ötkürü edatına kısaca yer verilecektir.
