Abstract
Fatma Aliye, who was born as the daughter of Ahmed Cevdet Pasha in the second half of the 19th century, was raised by a versatile and well-informed father and had entered the literary world with the support of Ahmet Mithat Efendi at a very early age. She reached a wide reputation as a first Turkish female writer and made important conrtributions to the Ottoman social life with her thoughts and works. She pioneered many innovations during the transition from the empire to the republic. Therefore, her growing conditions are very closely related to the changes and developments in our social life in the recent period.
Özet
19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında Ahmet Cevdet Paşa’nın kızı olarak dünyaya gelen Fatma Aliye, çok yönlü ve kültürlü bir babanın yanında yetişmiş ve çok erken yaşlarda Ahmet Mithat Efendi’nin desteğiyle edebiyat hayatına girmiştir. İlk önemli kadın yazarımız olarak geniş bir şöhrete ulaşmış, düşünceleri ve eserleri ile Osmanlı toplum hayatına çok önemli katkılarda bulunmuş ve Osmanlı’dan Cumhuriyet’e geçiş sürecinde pek çok yeniliğe öncülük etmiştir. Bu sebeple onun yetişme şartları, son dönemdeki sosyal hayatımızdaki değişme ve gelişmelerle çok yakından ilgilidir.
