DESIGN OF SPLIT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM CONTROLLED BY A PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC)

Abstract
In order to ensure the most efficient use of energy several studies have been done in the world where energy need is continuously increasing and energy resources are gradually decreasing. In the split air-conditioning systems, which are the most important group within the individual air-conditioning system, a remarkable rise in the heating and cooling values obtained per unit of energy supplied to the system has been seen. For this reason, the use of split air-conditioning system in the heating and cooling industry is quite important. Microcontroller electronic cards have been used in the automatic control system of these devices. However, several problems have occurred during the usage of these cards. In this study, programmable logic controller (PLC) has been used instead of these cards in order to eliminate the problem. For this purpose, a training setup has been developed and with the usage of PLC on this setup it has been made possible for the technical staff to adjust the working modes on air conditioners according to the desired performance and to observe this situation.

Enerji ihtiyacının sürekli arttığı ama kaynakların gittikçe azaldığı dünyada, enerjinin en verimli şekilde kullanılmasını sağlamak için çok çeşitli çalışmalar yapılmaktadır. Bireysel klima sistemleri içerişindeki en önemli grubu oluşturan split klima sistemlerinde, verilen birim enerji başına elde edilen ısıtma ve soğutma değerlerinde kayda değer bir yükselme görülmektedir. Bu nedenle, ısıtma ve soğutma sektöründe split klima kullanımı oldukça önemlidir. Bu cihazların otomatik kontrol sistemlerinde mikrodenetleyici tabanlı elektronik kartlar kullanılmaktadır. Ancak bu kartların kullanımıyla çeşitli sorunlar ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu çalışmada, sorunları ortadan kaldırabilmek için bu kartların yerine programlanabilen mantıksal denetleyicinin (PLC) kullanımı denenmiştir. Bu amaçla, bir eğitim seti geliştirilmiş ve bu set üzerinde PLC kullanımı ile teknik elemanların, klimanın çalışma modlarını istediği performansa göre ayarlaması ve bu çalışmayı gözlemlemesi sağlanmıştır.
