Abstract
Foreign Direct Investments is a long-term foreign investment. It can be defined as establishment or acquisition of existing production facilities of a company outside the main center country. In this study, first of all the definition and scope of FDI take into consideration and it mention the historical development of FDI in terms of changing the financial framework in on the global scale.

Uzun dönemli bir yabancı yatırım olan Doğrudan Yabancı Yatırımlar bir şirketin, yatırımını ülke sınırları dışına yaymak üzere, ana merkezin dışındaki ülkelere üretim tesisi kurması veya mevcut üretim tesislerini satın alması biçiminde tanımlanabilir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle DYY’lerin tanımı ve kapsamı dikkate alınarak Türkiye ve dünyanın değişen finansal çerçeve içerisinde DYY’ler bakımından tarihsel gelişiminden bahsedilmiştir
