Evaluation of Inclusive Practices in Secondary Schools

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the school management in terms of inclusion in secondary schools. The research design used for the study was a descriptive survey method. The sample of this study were 34 school administrators in 12 secondary schools which has inclusive students in Izmit. Data were collected by using “Evaluation of Inclusive Practices in Secondary Schools” questionnaire. The survey results indicated that, secondary school administrators often had positive thoughts about the importance of inclusive education but it said to be they were insufficient to provide the necessary infrastructure about the inclusion. School administrators are not involved in the inclusive practices, it said they do not think of their inclusion in the main responsibility of the classroom teacher or guide teacher and family to fully co-operate with the inclusive education. In addition, school administrators are also experiencing some problems because they do not have sufficient knowledge and education about the inclusive education.

Özet

Çalışma hayatında özellikle son yıllarda üzerinde ağırlıklı olarak çalışılan konulardan biri, önce insan anlayışına dayalı olarak çalışanı işe almaktan çok elde tutmak ve mutlu etmektir. Bu konuya katkı sağlayan uygulamalardan biri, performans değerlendirmedir. Ancak, performans değerlendirme sonuçlarının gerçeği yansıtıp yansıtmadığı noktasındaki tartışmalar bu sonuçların oluşumuna etki eden faktörleri ortaya çıkarmayı giderek daha zorunlu hale getirmektedir. Bu noktada çalışmada, performans değerlendirme sonuçlarını etkileyen faktörlerden cinsiyet faktörü ele alınmaktadır. Değerlendirici ya da değerlendirilenin cinsiyetinin kadın ya da erkek olmasının performans sonuçları üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koyabilmek amacı ile araştırmanın hipotezi, “değerlendirici cinsiyeti ve değerlendirilen cinsiyeti, gerçekleştirilecek performans değerlendirmeleri üzerinde bir farklılık oluşturacaktır” şeklinde oluşturulmuştur. Hipotez üniversite öğrencilerden oluşun 331 kişilik bir örneklem ile sınanmıştır. Analizler sonucunda hipotez desteklendiği için kabul edilmiştir.
