Child Rearing Attitudes of Incarcerated Mothers

Abstract

The main goal of this study is to investigate the child rearing attitudes of incarceratedmothers. In order to describe the situation general screening model was used. The sample setof 95 incarcerated mothers with 2-6 years old children staying in Ankara Women, Aksarayand Konya E-type Prisons. In this research to measure the child rearing attitudes of mothers,“Parental Attitude Scale” developed by Karabulut Demir and Sendil (2008) was used. Theresults of this study showed that, mothers’ age, mothers’ educational status, children’s numberand their crime had significant differences of mothers’ child rearing attitudes.
