A Phenomenologıcal Study On The Process And Results of Parent Teacher Meetıngs

Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to examine the experiences of parents, teachers, and school managers on parent-teacher conferences. This research has been conducted based on phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research designs. The participants consist of public and private primary school managers in the central district of Bingöl, the classroom teachers working in these schools, and the parents whose children are studying at these schools. Participants in the research study group were determined according to the criteria and maximum diversity sampling method. The research data were collected with semi-structured interview forms developed by the researchers. Descriptive and content analysis methods were used in the analysis of the obtained data. The research findings were presented and discussed under the themes of planning parent teacher meetings, the topics discussed at the meeting, stakeholder communication during the meeting, the difficulties experienced, and the impact of the meetings on the education and teaching process.
Özet
Bu araştırmanın temel amacı veli, öğretmen ve okul yöneticilerinin veli toplantılarına ilişkin yaşantılarını incelemektir. Çalışma, nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgubilim desenine göre tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını, Bingöl il merkezindeki devlet ve özel ilkokullarda görev yapan yöneticiler, sınıf öğretmenleri ve çocukları bu okullarda öğrenim gören öğrenci velileri oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılar, ölçüt örnekleme ve maksimum çeşitlilik yöntemlerine göre belirlenmiştir. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde, betimsel analiz ve içerik analizi yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, veli toplantılarının planlanma süreci, toplantıda görüşülen konular, toplantı esnasında paydaş iletişimi, veli toplantılarında yaşanan güçlükler, veli toplantılarının eğitim öğretim sürecine etkisi başlıkları altında sunulmuş ve tartışılmıştır.
