Early Stage Nursing Care In Morbid Obesity After Barıatric Surgery

Abstract

Obesity is an increasing health problem in Turkey as in other countries in the world. Obesity is described as steatopygia in body that will deteriorate the health. Morbid obesity surgery (bariatric surgery) is an effective treatment method in recovery of co-morbid diseases and to prevent the formation of new problems associated with obesity. In bariatric surgery, a routine postoperative care such as oxygen and hemodynamic monitarization, pain management, mobilization, wound care, nutrition, education and emotinal support is carried out for the patients. Early stage complications are seen within the first 30 days. The role of the nurse within the team has a significant impact in prevention of these complications or adiministration of appropraite treatment and care in the event of development of complication.

Özet

Obezite, dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de giderek artan bir sağlık sorunudur. Obezite sağlığı bozacak şekilde vücutta aşırı yağ birikimi olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Morbid obezite cerrahisi (bariyatrik cerrahi) komorbid hastalıkların iyileşmesinde ve obeziteye bağlı yeni sorunların gelişmesini önlemede etkili tedavi yöntemidir. Bariyatrik cerrahide hastalara oksijen ve hemodinamik monitarizasyon, ağrı yönetimi, mobilizasyon, yara bakımı, beslenme, eğitim ve emosyonel destek gibi rutin postoperatif bakım yapılır. Erken dönem komplikasyonlar ilk 30 gün içerisinde görülmektedir. Bu komplikasyonların önlenmesinde, komplikasyon geliştiğinde uygun tedavi ve bakım yapılmasında hemşirenin ekip içindeki rolü çok büyüktür.
