Abstract

Foucault ends his book The Order of Things by declaring “death of man”. Foucault expresses what Nietzsche meant by “death of God” means “the end of metaphysics”. According to Foucault, Nietzsche declared “the death of man” who is the epistemological subject of modern science emerged in modern episteme. Seperation of the knowlodge from theology in western thought, started with Nietzsche. With end of metaphysics, identification subject and conscious which are the foundation of Western knowlodge come to end. Therefore, antropological thought and humanist subject that the put himself into God’s place came to end. The thought of death of God and man is one of the most impotant milestone in postmodern thought.
