OSTEOPOROSIS: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

Prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in the perimenopausaI and postmenopausal women are important matters in both to improve quality of ly-e and reduce the cost by decreastng fracture rate. Osteoporosis, a preventable disease must be considered as a public health problem of magnitude: heaIth staff should be responsible for seeking predilections in their patients and contribute ta its prevention: otherwise, relatively inexpensive preventive measures will have kr be substuted by coastly treatments of long duration. Osteoporosis is characterized by decrease of bone mass and changes of the microarchiteetural struce ture of the bone, pain is the most prominent symptom. Osteoporosis is on important heath care problem in the world. The most important complication is a fracture. An osteoporosis did not become evident clinically for long term periods, early diognosis is important. In this article, osteoporosis has been reviewed utilizing the current literature information

Özet

Perimenapozal ve postmenapozal dönemlerdeki kadınlarda osteoporozun tedavisi ve önlenmesi yaşam kalitesinin sağlanması ve kemik kırıklan oranının azaltılması açısından önemli bir konudur. Özellikle menapoz evresinden sonra belirginleşen osteoporozun önlenmesinde sağlık çalışanlarına önemli görevler düşer. Çeşitli nedenlerle muayene edilen hastalara bu konuda ayrılacak kısa bir ek sürenin gelecekte bu nedenle karşılaş abilecek kırıklardan deformas yona kadar bir çok önemli sorunları azaltabileceği kesindir. Osteoporoz kemik miktarındaki azalmayla ve kemiğin mikromimarisindeki değişiklikle karakterizedir. Ağn en belirgin semptomdur. Osteoporoz tüm dünyada önemli bir sağlık problemidir. En önemli komplikasyonu ise, neden olduğu kırıklardır. Klinik olarak uzun dönem as emptomatik seyrettiği için erken tam ve ayine' tanı oldukça önemlidir.
