The Investigation of the Prevalance of Lice Species on the Hair Goats Slaughtered at Bingöl Municipal Slaughterhouse

Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of lice infestations in 290 goats slaughtered in Bingöl Municipal Slaughterhouse. For this purpose, 290 goats were examined, between December 2014 to May 2015 by going once a week during six mounth to Bingöl Municipal Slaughterhouse. Lice infestation were seen in 88 (30.34%) of the examined 290 hair goats. Of the 340 lice collected from the infested goats, 153 (45%), 63 (195), 124 (36%) were positive for Bovicola caprae, Bovicola limbata and Linognathus africanus respectively. The avarage number of lices per animal was found to be 3.85. This study was conducted for the first time in Bingöl province

Bu çalışma, Bingöl Belediye Mezbahasında kesimi yapılan 290 kıl keçisinde bit (Mallophaga ve Anoplura) enfestasyonlarının yaygınlığını araştırmak için yapılmıştır. Bu amaç için, Aralık 2014-Mayıs 2015 tarihleri arasında Bingöl Belediye Mezbahasına 6 ay boyunca haftada bir kez gidilerek 290 kıl keçisi bit yönünden muayene edilmiştir. Muayene edilen 290 kıl keçisinin 88’inde (%30,34) bit enfestasyonu görülmüştür. Enfeste keçiler üzerinden toplanan 340 bitin 153’ü Bovicola caprae (%45), 63’ü Bovicola limbata (%19), 124’ü ise Linognathus africanus (%36) olduğu görülmüştür. Hayvan başına düşen ortalama bit sayısı ise 3,85 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu çalışma Bingöl ilinde ilk defa yapılmıştır.
