MARRIED WOMEN’S RIGHTS AND DUTIES IN ISLAMIC LAW BY THE HOLY QURA'AN

Abstract
This study demonstrates how the Islam law honored women by granting them high statuses and great rights. First and foremost that it forbade burying newly-born girls and that accomplish the first goal of legislation which is to save lives; it not only did that, but also granted heaven to those who treated them well and honored them. This study includes an entry that indicates women statuse as it is mentioned in the holy Qura’an and Sunnah; the purpose of which is to confirm the status that was given to women by Islam and to emphasis the importance of performing their rights that are taken from them nowadays. It explained the difference between women and wives, then clarified the differences among the phrases that the Qura’an contains. Also it includes the legal relationships (marriage), its terms and conditions, and it elucidates how it is legalized by Qura’an and Sunnah. Then the marital rights and duties that belong to the wife, one of the most important ones is the dowry when tying the knot, which is a gift to the pride, not a price to obtain her as Jews think. In addition, it talked about the illegal relationships and affairs(adultery), and how Allah forbade such acts in multiple surat and hadeeth about fornication. Another theme was forced marriages, or in better terms, rape. And the punishment of such thing. Circumcision; it was allowed by Islam to be done by her as one of her rights, it never have been an obligation.
