Özet
Mersin’in Silifke ilçesi Örenköy sınırları içinde yer alan Olba kenti, Erken Hıristiyanlık Dönemi’nde Roma İmparatorluğu’nun Isauria Eyaleti’ndeki piskoposluk merkezlerinden biridir. Aynı dönemde bölgede Hıristiyanlık oldukça güçlüdür. Ancak Olba’yı Hıristiyanlıktaki gücü bakımından bölgedeki kentlerin önüne geçiren yapı, kentte bulunan manastır ve mağara – kilisedir. Olba’da Su Kemeri’nin yaklaşık 3 km güneyinde Şeytanderesi Vadisi içinde yer alan mağara – kilise, kentin Erken Hıristiyanlık Dönemi bakımından oldukça önemlidir. Mağara – kilise, Olba’nın ilk kilisesi olarak araştırmalarımız sonucunda tespit edilmekte ve MS IV. yüzyıla tarihlenmektedir. Mağara – kilisenin doğusunda yer alan kilise için de tarih önerimiz, MS V. – VI. yüzyıl aralığıdır.
