Abstract

Besides the Hagia Sophia has been undergone many demolitions and restorations in the period from the time it was built up to the present day, it kept large space in historical texts and many legends. İn this study, a legend in the example of anonymous gazavâtnâme has been mentioned about the construction of the Hagia Sophia serving to Christians until the conquest of İstanbul by Fatih Sultan Mehmet on may 29, 1453 and serving to Muslims until it was remowed from the mosque in 1453 to 24 October 1934 and attached to General Directorate of Museums. İn this context , the issues such as how to determine the architect of Hagia Sophia, who guided him, the materials used in the construction of the building, the role of the cleric on the materials used, at the end of the construction of Hagia Sophia, donations of the emperor has been addressed.

Özet

Ayasofya inşa edildiği tarihten günümüze gelinceye kadar geçen süreç içerisinde pek çok yıkım ve onarımdan geçmenin yanı sıra tarihi metinlerde ve birçok efsanede oldukça geniş yer tutmaktadır. Bu çalışmada inşa edildikten 29 Mayıs 1453‟te İstanbul‟un Fatih Sultan Mehmet tarafından fethine kadar kilise olarak Hıristiyanlara, 1453 yılından 24 Ekim 1934‟te camilikten çıkarılıp Müzeler Genel Müdürlüğü‟ne bağlanmasına kadar da Müslümanlara hizmet eden Ayasofya‟nın yapılması ile ilgili anonim gazavâtnâme örneğinde bir efsane ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda Ayasofya‟yı yapan mimarın nasıl belirlendiği, kendisine kimin rehberlik ettiği, binanın yapımında kullanılan malzemeler, din adamının kullanılan malzemeler üzerindeki rolü, Ayasofya‟nın inşasının bitmesinden sonra İmparator‟un yaptığı bağışlar gibi konulara değinilmiştir.
