Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking for Treatment of Keratoconus

Keratokonusta Korneal Kollajen Çapraz Bağlama Sonuçlarının Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Background: The aim of this study was to assess the results of corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) with riboflavin using ultraviolet-A light for the treatment of keratoconus. Methods: Thirty seven eyes of 37 patients with progressive keratoconus were included in this retrospective study. The corneal epithelium was removed manually within the central 8-9 mm diameter area. A solution of 0.1% riboflavin was applied to the cornea every 5 min for 30 min prior to irradiation. The cornea was irradiated with UV-A light. During the 30 min irradiation, drops of riboflavin solution were applied to the cornea at 5 min intervals. During the follow up period, we recorded the best spectacle-corrected visual acuity (BSCVA), manifest refraction and corneal topographic changes at 1 month, 3 and 6 months. Amaç: Keratokonusta ultraviole-A ve riboflavin kullanarak yapılan korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama (KKÇB) sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesi. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu geriye dönük çalışmada ilerleyici keratokonuslu 37 hastanın 37 gözü değerlendirildi. Santral 8-9 mm çapında kornea epiteli manuel olarak uzaklaştırıldı. İşlemden önce 30 dakika boyunca her beş dakikada bir %0.1lik riboflavin solüsyonu damlatıldı. Kornea 30 dakika boyunca UV-A ile ışınlandı ve ışınlama sırasında her beş dakikada bir damla riboflavin solüsyonu damlatıldı. Hastaların ameliyat sonrası birinci, üçüncü, altıncı aylardaki takiplerde elde edilen gözlükle en iyi düzeltilmiş görme keskinliği (GE- İDGK), topografik keratometri (K) değerleri, refraksiyon de- ğerleri kaydedildi.
