Detection of teichoic acid antibodies using ELISA in staphylococcal bacteremia

Stafilokok bakteriyemilerinde taykoik asit (teichoic acid) antikorlarının ELISA ile saptanması

Abstract

Teichoic acit (TA) antibodies were detected in 45 serum samples (three endocarditis, seven acute osteomyeitis, fifteen chronic osteomyelitis five abscess, three pneumonia, three transient bacteremia, six superficial wound infections and three septic arthritis) using ELISA kits which were developed in the laboratory. The results were correlated with commercially available AGD kits (ENDO-STAPH). Sera from patients with deep seated staphylococcal infections were shown to have significantly higher antibody levels against teichoic acid (TA) with respect to both methods when compared with control groups.

Standart stafilokok susu He hazilanan ELlSA kiti ile toplam 45 hastada (üç endokardit, yedi akut osteomiyelit, onbeş kronik osteomiyelit, beş apse, üç pnömoni, altı yüzeye! yara infeksiyonu, üç geçici bakteriyemi ve üç septik artrit) taykoik asit (teichoic acid = TA) antikorları aranmış, sonuçlar ağar gel difüzyon ile saptanan antikor değerleri ile kıyaslanmıştır. Derin doku infeksiyonlu hasta serumlarında TA antikorları kontrol gruba oranla, her iki yöntemle anlamlı düzeyde yüksek bulunmuştur.
