Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the antibiotic susceptibility of Streptococcus mutans. In vitro susceptibility to five antimicrobial agents (amoxicillin, meropenem, doxycycline, vancomycin, clarithromycin) was investigated for 74 isolates of Streptococcus mutans recovered from dental plawues. The susceptibility patterns, MIC50 and MIC90 values which were determined by agar dilution technique according to NCCLS standards were as follows: amoxycillin 62%,

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Streptococcus mutans'ın antibiyotiklere duyarlılığı saptanmak idi. Diş plaklarından izole edilen 74 S. mutans susunun beş farklı antimikrobiyal ilaca (amoksisilin, meropenem, doksisiklin, vankomisin, klaritromisin) karşı in-vitro duyarlılığı araştırılmıştır. Agar dilüsyon tekniği ile NCCLS standartlarına göre yapılan çalışmada; duyarlılık oranları, MİK50 ve MİK90 değerleri, sırasıyla, amoksisilin için %62,
