Abstract

Istighna that is a word coming from the structure istif’al of “ğny” verb root. The form of “istighna” that is placed at four slots in Quran, is attributed to God in a verse and to human (a polytheists) in three verses. The word of istighna, in the verse used related with God, is used both as an adjective from the root “ğ n y” and also is used with the same meaning with the word ‘Ghaniyy’ (ğani) from EsmaulHusna (Beautiful names of Allah). Therefore, the root of “ğ n y” (in the form of ghaniyy, ighna and istighna) in the verses used as a verb of God, expresses the meaning “God enriches the ones whomever he wishes (mughnee-the Enricher), is excluded from the all kinds of needs in the presence of his attribution, is self-sufficient and self-dependent. However, in the verses attributed to human, it is meant that human supposes himself, having no right, sufficient enough and believes that he does not need to divine guidance, The Prophet and his vocations, is not afraid of God and committing a sin and is satisfied with this world’s pleasures and thinks that he is not in need of after-life.
