The term gender in the context of the book “Unruhe” from Zülfü Livaneli

Abstract

In this thesis, the term gender is discussed in order to be able to present social development in a general context. The social development is thus concretized and the gender theory is emphasized. The historical change in gender theory shows how a lot has changed both conceptually and in everyday life for women. The social construction is also taken into account and everyday life is categorized into two parts. There is the man and the woman, and this work deals with women and their place in society. In addition, research by representatives of gender theory such as Ann Oakley is analysed within the framework of the work. Erik Erikson's 8-step model also plays a decisive role in the analysis of the work. At this point, the development of women in relation to the 8 phases is researched and analysed. From the perspective of the work “Unrest”, the analysis illustrates how women are viewed in society or how they are received by society. Finally, an attempt is made to emphasize the term gender with some important points from Zülfü Livaneli's work “Unruhe”.
