Investigation of suitable sowing time for greenhouse and open field lettuce growing in Çukurova Region

Çukurova Bölgesi' nde serada ve açıkta marul yetiştiriciliğinde elverişli ekim zamanlarının araştırılması

Abstract

ïn this study that was carried out in Çukurova ecological condition between 1996-97 and 1997-98 growing seasons, the effects of sowing time on yield and head quality of lettuce cv. Lital were investigated in greenhouse and open field. While the first sowing date was beginning of September in the first year of the experiment, in the second year it was beginning of August and followed by 10 days intervals.According to the outcome of the experiment, in Adana the most suitable sowing date varied from mid of August to beginning of September for lettuce growing in open field. For greenhouse growing, it was found to be too early sowing in August affecting head formation negatively. Sowing towards mid of September was found to be most suitable for growing in greenhouse.

Özet

Çukurova Bölgesi koşullarında 1996-97 ve 1997-98 yetiştirme dönemlerinde iki yıl sûreyle cam sera ve açık tarla koşullarında yürütülen bu çalışmada farklı ekim-dikim tarihlerinin Lital marul çeşidinde verim ve baş iriliği üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın ilk yılında eylül ayı başından, ikinci yılında ağustos ayı başından itibaren lö'ar gün aralıklarla farklı tohum ekim tarihleri denenmiştir.Araştırma bulgularına göre, Adana ilinde açıkta marul tarımı için en elverişli tohum ekim zamanının ağustos ayı ortasından eylül ayı başına kadar olan dönem olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Serada yetiştiricilikte ise ağustos ayı ekimlerinin çok erken olduğu ve kaliteyi olumsuz etkilediği; eylü! ayı ortasının ise en elverişli olduğu saptanmıştır.
