THE PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED IN ART CRITICISM AND SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS

SANAT YAPITI ELEŞTİRİSİNDE KARŞILAŞILAN SIKINTILAR VEGÖSTERGEBİLİMSEL ÇÖZÜMLEME YÖNTEMİ

Abstract

The fine arts education process attempts to imbue individuals with critical and culturalknowledge and experience. This knowledge and experience is passed on with the aid ofcourses revolving around art criticism and art analysis, in addition to theoretical lectures onhistory and culture. Through the course of history, methods of art have evolved inconnection with art s reason for being. The process of art criticism embodies a number ofdifficulties arising from the nature of the art itself. This work will attempt to examine,through the use of descriptive analysis, the difficulties presented by the nature of art duringthe art criticism process. The work will additionally attempt to pinpoint the ways in whichthe semiotic analysis method diverges from criticism while considering the role and structureof the semiotic method in overcoming such difficulties.

GüzelSanatlareğitimisürecindebireylereeleştirel,kültürelbilgivedeneyimkazandırılmaya çalışılır.Bubilgivedeneyimtarih,kültürleilgilikuramsalderslerinyanındasanateleştirisi, sanateseriincelemedersleriyledeverilmeyeçalışılmaktadır.Tarihselsüreçtesanatınvarlık nedeniylebağlantılıolaraksanateleştirisiyöntemleridedeğişmektedir.Sanateleştirisüreci, eleştirilen nesnenin doğasından dolayı birtakım zorlukları içerisinde barındırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada betimsel çözümleme yöntemi ile eleştiri sürecinde incelenen nesnenin (sanat yapıtı)doğasındandolayıkarşılaşılansıkıntılarınnelerolduğuortayakoyulmayaçalışılacaktır. Bu zorlukları aşmada göstergebilimsel yöntemin yeri ve yapısı üzerinde durularak göstergebilimsel çözümleme yönteminin eleştiriden ayrıldığı noktalar belirlenmeye çalışılacaktır.
