Composite carcinoma-carcinoid tumor of the stomach

Abstract
A synchronous bifocal malignant carcinoid and adenocarcinoma of the stomach is described. These two different tumors were discovered three centimeters apart from each other with a histolog-ically proven tumor free zone. Whereas composite and collision glandular and endocrine cell carci-nomas of the gastrointestinal system occur rather frequently, our case of separate primaries with his-tologically normal gastric wall represents an inter-esting lesion in the stomach. Morphological light and electron microscopic studies of the two tumors and clinical description of the patient are presented.
Özet
Bu senkron iki ayrı odakta karsinoid tümör ve adenokarsinom içeren bir olgu sunumudur. İki ayrı tümör birbirlerinden histolojik olarak tümörsüz 3 cm uzunluğunda bir alanla ayrılmışlardır. Gastrointestinal sistemin kompozit ve kollizyon glandüler ve endokrin hücreli karsinomları sık birliktelik göstermekle birlikte bizim olgumuzda iki primer tümörün histolojik olarak normal gastrik duvarla ayrılması ilginçtir. Bu sunumda hastalığın kliniği ile birlikte iki ayrı tümörün morfolojik ışık ve elektronmikroskopik bulguları bildirilmektedir.
