Abstract

Forty cases with prostate carcinoma that are diagnosed at Pathology Department of Dicle University between 1996 and 1998 were included in this study. Slides of the cases were stained with p53 and PCNA, and the correlation between grade and Gleason score for each patient was investigated. According to Gleason scores, of our cases, 2 (5%) were grade I, 12 (30%) were grade II, 7 (18%) were grade III, 11 (27%) were grade IV and 8 (20%) were grade V. The p53 positivity was not observed in any of the grade I and grade II cases, but positive staining was determined in one out of grade III, two out of grade IV and three out of grade V cases. Average of PCNA index of grade I, grade II, grade III, grade IV and grade V cases was 1.310.5, 2.1±1.1, 4.7±2.3, 6.5±2.5, and 7.3±3.8 respectively, and average of the cases was 4.4±2.0. There was a significant correlation between grade and Gleason score with p53 and PCNA (p

Gleason'a göre olgularımızın 2'si grade I(%5), 12'si grade II(%30), 7'si grade III(%18), II'i grade IV(%27) ve 8'i grade V(%20) idi.
