The developments in volume and composition offoreign capital inflows to Turkey

Abstract
Turkish economy has hosted high amounts of foreign capital, that has created significantmacroeconomic effects, after completing financial liberalization in 1989. In this study, foreign capitaltowards Turkey have been evaluated in terms of volume and com position by analyzing data related to1989- 2011 period of Turkish economy. In conclusion, it has been observed that capital inflows toTurkey had the characters increasing the fragilities in the economy.
Özet
Finansal liberalizasyon sürecini tamamladığı 1989 yılından itibaren, Türkiye ekonomisineyönelik önemli makroekonomik etkiler yaratan, yüksek miktarda yabancı sermaye girişi olmuştur. Buçalışmada Türkiye ekonomisinin 1989- 2011 dönemine ilişkin verileri analiz edilerek ülkeye yönelenyabancı sermaye akımlarının gelişimi hacimsel ve kompozisyonel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. SonuçtaTürkiyeye yönelik sermaye girişlerinin ekonomide kırılganlıkları artırıcı niteliklere sahip olduğugözlemlenmiştir.
