SERVICE QUALITY OF PRIVATE HOSPITALS WITH JCI ACCREDITATION IN ISTANBUL

Abstract

In addition to the competition that occurred due to the increase in the number of globalization and local businesses, technological developments have forced many institutions and organizations to renew themselves and improve the quality of service. Organizations providing services in the health sector provide service quality assurance to patients by obtaining JCI accreditation from international accreditations and continuing JCI accreditation.The quality of service coverage provided by JCI accreditation to patients provides hospitals with national and international competitive advantage. For this reason, health institutions receive and maintain JCI accreditation on a voluntary basis. The aim of this study is to examine the service quality of private hospitals with JCI accreditation in Istanbul. In addition, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the quality of service and the socio-demographic variables of the participants and certain qualities of the hospitals. In the research designed in relational screening model, the survey technique, one of the quantitative methods, was used. In the study; Data were collected by Personal Information Form, Servqual Scale and Hospital Information Form. The universe of the research is the patients and their relatives who received services from 14 private hospitals with JCI certificate in Istanbul. One of the sampling methods for sample selection was made according to the criterion sampling. In the study, in which 860 participants participated voluntarily, data obtained from 762 participants were analyzed. As a result of the research, it was found that private hospitals with JCI accreditation did not meet the expectations of patients and their relatives, both in terms of total service quality and service quality. In other words, the service quality of private hospitals with JCI accreditation has lower service quality compared to patients and their relatives. As a result of the statistical analysis, while there was no significant difference between the total service quality and the marital status of the participants, the reason for being in the hospital, the type of service received from the hospital, and the bed capacity of. Variables that have a significant significance between hospital service quality: hospital age, number of doctors, education level of participants, age and gender. Also; As the education level of the participants decreased and their ages increased, it was determined that the service quality was evaluated as low service quality. It has been determined that the number of doctors in the hospital and the service quality of the physical therapy rehabilitation (FTR) clinic are evaluated as high service quality compared to other clinics.

Küreselleşme ve yerel işletme sayısındaki artışa bağlı olarak oluşan rekabetin yanı sırateknolojik gelişmeler birçok kurum ve kuruluşu kendini yenilemeye ve hizmet kalitesiniartırmaya zorlamıştır. Sağlık sektöründe hizmet veren kuruluşlar, uluslararasıakreditasyonlardan JCI akreditasyonu alarak ve JCI akreditasyonunu devam ettirerekhastalara hizmet kalitesi teminatı vermektedirler. JCI akreditasyonun hastalara vermişolduğu hizmet kalitesi teminatı, hastanelere ulusal ve uluslararası rekabet avantajısağlamaktadır. Bu nedenle sağlık kuruluşları gönüllük esasına dayalı olarak JCIakreditasyonu almakta ve devam ettirmektedirler. Bu çalışmanın amacı, İstanbul ilindeJCI akreditasyonu olan özel hastanelerin hizmet kalitelerinin ve hizmet kalitesininkatılımcıların sosyo-demografik değişkenleri ile hastanelerin belirli nitelikleri ileolan ilişkisinin incelenmesidir. İlişkisel tarama modelinde tasarlanan araştırmadanicel yöntemlerden anket tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada; Kişisel Bilgi Formu,Servqual Ölçeği ve Hastane Bilgi Formu ile veriler toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın evreniİstanbul’da bulunan JCI belgesine sahip 14 özel hastaneden hizmet alan hasta ve hastayakınlarıdır. Örneklem seçimi amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kriter örnekleme göreyapılmıştır. 860 katılımcının gönüllü katılım sağladığı araştırmada 762 katılımcıdanelde edilen veriler analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, JCI akreditasyonu olan özelhastanelerin, hem toplam hizmet kalitesi hem de hizmet kalitesi alt boyutlarında hastave hasta yakınlarının beklentilerini karşılamadığı saptanmıştır. Diğer bir ifadeyle JCIakreditasyonu olan özel hastanelerin hizmet kalitesi, hasta ve hasta yakınlarına göredüşük hizmet kalitesine sahiptir. İstatistiksel analizler sonucunda toplam hizmet kalitesiile katılımcıların medeni durumu, hastanede bulunma sebebi, hastaneden alınanhizmet türü, hastanenin yatak kapasitesi arasında anlamlı farklılık belirlenemezken;hastanenin yaşı, doktor sayısı, katılımcıların eğitim seviyesi, yaşı ve cinsiyeti arasındaanlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca; katılımcıların eğitim düzeyi düştükçe veyaşları arttıkça hizmet kalitesini düşük hizmet kalitesi olarak değerlendirdikleri,hastanedeki doktor sayısındaki artışın ve fizik tedavi rehabilitasyon (FTR) kliniklerinindiğer kliniklere göre hizmet kalitesinin, yüksek hizmet kalitesi olarak değerlendirildiğibelirlenmiştir.
