Unification of Matter Issue in Ancient Arabic Poetry

Abstract

The unification of manner and structure issue in ancient Arabic poetry is debated especially in the modern era. According to this debate, whether the first period literary critics have examined ancient Arabic poetry in terms of the unification of topic and structure or not have also been discussed. We, in this study, researched the approaches of some of the critics who are prominent figures in their period about the unification of topic and structure in ancient Arabic poetry beginning from third century of the hegira calendar. Aside from this, we try to enlighten this subject through referring to some of the modern literary critics' opinions.

Kadim Arap şiirinde konu ve yapı birliği meselesi özellikle modern dönemde tartışılmıştır. Bu tartışmaya bağlı olarak ilk dönem edebî eleştirmenlerin, kadim Arap şiirini konu ve yapı birliği bakımından inceleyip incelemedikleri de söz konusu edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada hicrî üçüncü asırdan itibaren kendi dönemlerinde öne çıkmış kimi eleştirmenlerin kadim Arap şiirindeki konu ve yapı birliği meselesine yaklaşımları incelenmiş, Ayrıca modern dönemden bazı edebiyat eleştirmenlerinin meseleye bakışlarına atıflarda bulunulmuştur.
