Abstract
The aim of this study is to build up a profile of the actions carried out bythe PKK/KCK terrorist organization in 2010 and to reveal in which citiesand to what degree these actions occurred. In this framework, the actionsand activities carried out by the PKK terrorist organization were analyzedand it was found that the PKK terrorist organization carried out a total of4,598 actions that were subsumed under 23 different types. In order for theresults to be analyzed in a systematic way, we classified actions of 23different types under 5 subtitles andtested whether the frequency ofdifferent types of actions realized by the PKK terrorist organizationdiffered across cities. The results showed that the city-specific actionprofiles were not similar to another one; whereas acts of violence supportedby the rural zone were frequently observed in some cities, acts of violencesupported by the urban zone happened in others and in certain cities, actions such as protest marches, press statements and propagandafrequently occurred. The fact that the action profiles of cities bear noresemblance in terms of quality/frequency require that the solutionsoffered for defence against terrorism be different in terms ofquality/frequency.
