Complications of Formaldehyde Injection for a Cystic Mass of the Neck

Abstract

Formaldehyde is a colorless reactive chemical with suffocating and pungent odor. It is irritant to mucous membranes and can enter the body by either oral ingestion orinhalation. Formaldehyde is toxic to living tissue. In thisreport, we present the case of a 22-year-old woman whowas treated with formaldehyde injection for a cystic massof the neck with developing complications.
