Osteopetrozise ikincil gelişen mandibula osteomiyeliti: Olgu sunumu

Abstract
Osteopetrosis is a rare genetic bone dysplasia that devel-ops secondary to defective activity of osteoclasts in boneresorption and remodelling functions. Osteomyelitis ofthe mandible can be seen as a complication in patientswith osteopetrosis because of impaired bone vascular-ity and its management could be difcult. In this study,we reported a 10-year-old girl with osteopetrosis who presented with jaw swelling and was treated for oste-omyelitis of the mandible in our department. Based onthe current literature, we pointed to osteomyelitis of themandible, which is a rare complication of osteopetrosis,with diagnostic and therapeutic features.
Özet
Osteopetrozis nadir görülen genetik bir kemik displa-zisidir ve osteoklastların kemik rezorpsiyonu ve yeni-den yapılanması işlevlerindeki bozukluğa ikincil gelişir.Mandibula osteomiyeliti, kemikte azalan vaskülariteyebağlı olarak osteopetrozisli hastalarda görülebilen ve te-davisi zor olabilen bir komplikasyondur. Bu çalışmadaalt çenede şişlik yakınması ile başvuran ve mandibula osteomiyeliti nedeniyle kliniğimizde tedavi edilen, os-teopetrozisli 10 yaşında bir kız çocuğunu sunduk. Lite-ratür bilgileri ışığında osteopetrozisin nadir bir kompli-kasyonu olan mandibula osteomiyelitine, tanı ve tedaviözellikleriyle dikkat çekmeyi amaçladık.
