Abstract

Optic nerve avulsion is an uncommon presentation of ocular trauma with a poor prognosis. It can be seen as complete or partial form due to the form of trauma. We assessed the complete optic nerve avulsion in a 16-year-old female patient complaining of loss of vision in her left eye after a traffic accident. (Turk J Ophthalmol 2014; 44: 249-51)

Özet

Optik sinir avulsiyonu nadir gözlenen ve oldukça kötü prognozlu bir oküler travmadır. Travmanın şekline göre avulsiyon parsiyel veya komplet olmak üzere değişen şiddetlerde gözlenebilir. Çalışmamızda trafik kazası sonucunda sol gözde görme kaybı şikayeti ile başvuran 16 yaşındaki bayan hastamızda tespit edilen komplet formda bir optik sinir avulsiyonunu irdeledik.
