Intraocular lens power calculation after refractive surgery and technologic improvements

Abstract

Intraocular lens power calculations are problematic in eyes that had refractive surgery. Biometric error is the result of mismeasurement of keratometric values after keratorefractive surgery. In eyes which had refractive lens surgery the reason of biometric error is mismeasurement of axial length. These errors lead to unplanned refractive errors after cataract surgery which is a problem both for surgeon and patient. In this study. we want to review the sources and solutions of problems in calculation of IOL power in eyes that undergone refractive surgery. We also try to mention about new developments.

Özet

Göziçi lens (GİL) gücü hesaplamaları refraktif cerrahi geçirmiş gözlerde önemli bir problemdir. Keratorefraktif cerrahi sonrası biyometrik hata keratometrik ölçümlerdeki hatadan; refraktif lens cerrahisi sonrası biyometrik hata ise aksiyel uzunluk ölçümündeki hatadan kaynaklanmaktadır. Bu hatalar katarakt ameliyatı sonrasında planlanmamış refraksiyon kusurlarına yol açarak hasta ve cerrahı sıkıntıya sokabilmektedir. Bu derlemede refraktif cerrahi sonrası GİL gücü hesaplamasında yaşanabilecek problemler. sebepleri ve çözüm yolları irdelenmiş. son gelişmeler aktarılmaya çalışılmıştır.
