Abstract

PURPOSE: To evaluate refractive and visual results of clear lens surgery and Tecnis multifocal intraocular lens implantation in presbyopic farsighted eyes and to assess patient satisfaction. MATERIALS-METHODS: Thirty eyes of fifteen presbyopic farsighted patients who had refractive lens surgery with Tecnis ZM900 multifocal lens implantation for the treatment of both near and far vision are included in the study. Uncorrected and best-corrected visual acuities in near and far, refractive errors and contrast sensitivities of the eyes and patient satisfaction criteria are recorded in the first and sixth months postoperatively. RESULTS: Mean uncorrected far visual acuity is measured 0.68± 0.19 in the first month postoperatively and 0.88± 0.12 in the sixth month. Best corrected far visual acuity was found 0.8 or above in all eyes both in the first and sixth months following the surgery. Uncorrected near visual acuities in the first month were measured Jaeger 2 (J2) or better in 93 percent of the eyes, while in the sixth month 94 percent of the eyes had an uncorrected near visual acuities of J1. Postoperative mean spherical equivalents were measured +0.60±0.50 diopters (D) in the first month and -0.03± 0.48D in the sixth month. AMAÇ: Presbiyopik hipermetroplarda saydam lens cerrahisi ve Tecnis multifokal intraoküler lens (İOL) implantasyonunun görsel ve refraktif sonuçları ile birlikte hasta memnuniyetini değerlendirmek. YÖNTEM-GEREÇLER: Saydam lens cerrahisi yapılarak Tecnis ZM900 multifokal İOL yerleştirilen 15 presbiyopik hipermetrop hastanın 30 gözü çalışmaya alındı. Ameliyat sonrası 1. ve 6. aylarda hastaların yakın ile uzak düzeltilmiş ve düzeltilmemiş görme keskinliği, kırma kusuru, kontrast duyarlılığı ve hasta memnuniyeti değerlendirildi. BULGULAR: Düzeltilmemiş ortalama uzak görme keskinliği Snellen eşeline göre ameliyat sonrası 1. ayda 0.68 ±0.19 ve 6. ayda 0.88 ±0.12, düzeltilmiş en iyi uzak görme keskinliği tüm gözlerde 0.8 ve üzerinde idi.
