Abstract
PURPOSE: To describe the in vivo confocal microscopic findings of a 24 years old female patient with Schnyder's crystalline corneal dystrophy. METHOD: Case report. RESULTS: The patient presented with bilateral visual impairment and formation of white spots in her eyes. After ophthalmological examination, Schnyder cystalline corneal dystrophy was diagnosed and in vivo confocal microscopy was performed. Accumulation of reflective material consistent with subepithelial crystalline deposits was observed in confocal microscopy. DISCUSSION: In vivo confocal microscopy is a complimentary imaging technique to evaluate the morphological changes in Schnyder crystalline corneal dystrophy. Key words: In vivo confocal microscopy, Schnyder crystalline corneal dystrophy.
Özet
AMAÇ: Schnyder'in kristalin kornea distrofisi tespit edilen 24 yaşındaki kadın hastanın in vivo konfokal mikroskopi bulgularını sunmak. YÖNTEM: Olgu Sunumu. SONUÇLAR: Her iki gözünde görme azalması ve gözlerinde beyaz lekelerin oluşması şikayeti ile kliniğimize başvuran hastanın yapılan oftalmolojik muayenesi sonucunda Schnyder kristalin kornea distrofisi tanısı konularak in vivo konfokal mikroskopi uygulandı. Konfokal mikroskopide subepitelyal kristalin birikimi ile uyumlu yüksek reflektivite gösteren materyal izlendi. TARTIŞMA: İn vivo konfokal mikroskopi, Schnyder kristalin kornea distrofisinde meydana gelen morfolojik değişiklikleri değerlendirmede yardımcı bir inceleme yöntemidir.
