Pre-operative Evaluation in Patients with Neurological Diseases

Abstract
Neurologic diseases influence the morbidity and mortality in non-neurosurgical operations and determine the required tests for thepreoperative evaluation, the choice of the anesthetic medication and the perioperative care. The present review provides informationabout the principles of the preoperative management in patients with neurologic diseases undergoing non-neurosurgical operationsand addresses some special preoperative management issues in specific neurological diseases.

Nörolojik hastalıkların varlığı, nöroşirürji dışı cerrahi girişimlerde mortalite ve morbiditeyi etkileyebilmekte, girişim öncesi yapılacaktetkikler, anestezi tercihi ve perioperatif bakım üzerinde belirleyici olabilmektedir. Bu yazıda nöroloji hastalarında, özellikle genelanestezi altında ve elektif şartlarda yapılacak girişimlerden önceki yönelimin esasları tartışılacak ve spesifik nörolojik hastalıklarda preoperatif yaklaşım için öneriler üzerinde durulacaktır
