An Analysis on the “Musavver Hâle” Journal

Abstract

Musavver Hâle was published in İstanbul as a total of 3 issues between December 1325/1909 and February 1325/1910 during the 2nd Constitutional Period. In the phrase under the topic it described itself as “It is a fine art journal that will be published once a month for now.” The content of the journal is defined by the second under topic words as “music, literature, fashion and theatre”. Hüseyin Nazmi was the owner of the journal. Cevdet Maşuk [Taylan], director of the journal, also took place as an author with his literary critiques and theatrical writings. Although Musavver Hâle made a pretentious effect as an art journal at the beginning of the 2nd Constitutional period, it ended up a short-lived journal. This article aims to contribute to the field by presenting the introduction and directory of Musavver Hâle.

Musavver Hâle, II. Meşrutiyet döneminde Kânûnıevvel1325/1909-Şubat 1325/1910 tarihleri arasında, İstanbul’da toplam 3 sayıolarak yayımlanmıştır. Derginin başlık altı ifadesi “şimdilik ayda bir defaneşr olunan sanayi-i nefise gazetesidir” şeklinde belirtilmiştir. Dergininikinci başlık altı ifadesi ise “mûsikî, edebiyat, moda, tiyatro” kelimeleriyle tanımlanmaktadır. Derginin imtiyaz sahibi Hüseyin Nazmi’dir. Sorumlu müdür Cevdet Maşuk [Taylan], edebî tenkit ve tiyatro yazıları ilederginin yazar kadrosunda da yer almaktadır. Musavver Hâle, II. Meşrutiyet döneminin ilk yıllarında sanat dergisi olarak iddialı bir çıkış yapsa dakısa ömürlü bir dergi olmuştur. Bu makale, Musavver Hâle Dergisi’nintanıtımı ve dizini ile birlikte alana katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır.
