Abstract
A female patient, 34 year-old, was admitted to the hospital with fever, skin lesions on her hand and foot fingers. Fifteen days ago, she had been diagnosed serebrovascular disease. Clinical signs and findings suggested endocarditis Methicillin sensitive Staphylococcus aureus was isolated from the cultures of the blood and aspirate materials from the skin lesions. Echocardiographic examination showed mitral valve prolaose The cultures and echocardiographic findings confirmed staphylococcal endocarditis. Cerebral magnetic resonance imaging revealed multiple abscess due to septic emboli. Nafcillin and rifampicin were given. She was cured clinically with medical therapy. Relapse was not detected.
Özet
Otuzdört yaşında bayan hasta, ateş, el ve ayak parmaklarında deri lezyonları nedeniyle hastaneye yatırıldı. Hasta 15 gün önce serebrovasküler hastalık tanısı ile tedavi edilmişti. Klinik olarak endokardit düşünüldü. Kan kültürü ve ekstremitelerdeki lezyonlardan alınan kültürlerde metisiline duyarlı Staphylococcus aureus izole edildi. Ekokardiyografik incelemede mitral kapak prolapsusu tespit edildi. Bu bulgularla stafilokoksit endokardit tanısı kondu. Serebral manyetik rezonans (MR) incelemesinde septik embolilere bağlı multiple beyin apsesi gözlendi. Tedavide nafsilin ve rifampisin verildi. Tıbbi tedavi ile hasta tamamen düzeldi. Relaps gözlenmedi.
