Abstract
The history of a 60 year-old -male patient revealed -that he had received treatment for diabetes for 25 years, had undergone dialysis for 4 years because of a nephropathy, and had had treatment for gangrene resulting from ischemia in both hands and feet. He was recently hospitalized when larvae appeared in necrotic tissue in his toes. During examination of the patient whose general condition is moderate and who is semi-conscious with severe anaemia, it was found that myiasis larvae were present in necrotic tissues in the 3rd and 4th toes of the left foot. Nine myiasis larvae were taken from cutaneous and subcutaneous areas and put into- fixative solution. During determination of the species, it was found that they were the 3rd stage larvae of Lucilia sericata.
Özet
Atmış yaşındaki bir erkek hastanın 25 yıldır diyabet tanısı ile tedavi aldığı; 4 yıldır diyabetik nefropati nedeni ile dialize girdiği ve son iki aydır her iki el, ve ayakta dolaşım yetmezliğine bağlı gelişen gangren nedeniyle yara tedavisi uygulandığı öğrenildi. Son iki gündür hastanın ayak parmaklarındaki nekroze dokulardan kurtçukların çıktığı fark edilerek hastaneye getirildi. Genel durumu orta, bilinci yarı açık, ileri derecede anemik olan hastada yapılan muayene sonucu sol ayakta 3. ve 4. parmaklardaki nekrotik dokularda miyaz larvaları gözlendi. Cilt ve cilt altından toplam 9 adet miyaz larvası toplanarak fiksatif solüsyonu içine alındı. Tür araştırması sonucu Lucilia sericata 'nın 3. dönem larvaları olduğu saptandı.
