Abstract
This study was made to determine the prevalence of gastrointestinal nematodes in cattle in the province of Konya. A total of 100 cattle were examined for nematodes at slaughterhouses in Konya, Çumra, Beyşehir and Kadınhanı between January 2000 and January 2001. Twenty-two (22%) cattle were infected with various nematodes and 15 nematode species were identified. Prevalence rates varied from 1% to 8%. The cattle were infected with one, two, three and four different species at rates of 72.73%, 13.65%, 4.54%, and 9.08%, respectively. H. contenus (8%), O. marshalli (4%), O ostertagi (3%), O. trifurcata (2%), O. circumcincta (1%), and T. axei (1%) were collected from the abomasums. C. oncophora (3%), N. filicollis (1%), and S. cervi (1%) were collected from the small intestine. T. ovis (3%), T. discolor (2%) T. globulosa (1%) Oe. radiatum (1%), Oe. columbianum (1%) and C. ovina (1%) were collected from the caecum and colon.
Sığırlardan %72.73'ü bir tür, %13.65'i iki tür, %4.54'ü üç tür ve %9.08'i dört tür nematodla enfekte bulundu. Abomasumdan; H. contortus (%8), O. marshalli (%4), O. ostertagi (%3), O. trifurcata (%2), O. circumcincta (%1) ve T. axel (%1), ince bağırsaklardan; C. oncophora (%3), N. filicollis (%1) ve S cervi (%1), sekum ve kalınbağırsaklardan ise T. ovis (%3), T. discolor (%2), T. globulosa (%1), Oe. radiatum (%1), Oe. columbianum (%1) ve C. ovina (%1) toplanarak teşhis edilmiştir.
