Species of culicoides (Diptera: Ceratopogonidac) determined in an area of Bursa (Gemlik)

Abstract
: This study was carried out to determine the presence of Culicoides (Diptera) species in Bursa (Gemlik). For this purpose a total of 413 fly specimens, composed of 376 females and 37 males, were collected with light traps operated from the mains supply via transformers. These were set up in different places on the Gemlik Military Farm between May-September, 1995. The flies were collected mostly in July and less in August and September. All of the collected samples were identified as Culicoides. Twelve Culicoides species were identified from the fly samples.
Özet
Bu araştırma, Bursa'nın Gemlik ilçesinde Culicoides türlerinin saptanması amacı ile yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla Mayıs-Eylül 1995 ayları arasında Gemlik Askeri Harasında çeşitli noktalarda kurulan transforınatörlü ışık tuzağı ile 376'sı dişi, 37'si erkek olmak üzere toplam 413 Culicoides örneği toplanmıştır. Sinekler, en çok Temmuz, en az ise Ağustos ve Eylül aylarında yakalanmıştır. Toplanan örnekler arasında 12 Culicoides türü tespit edilmiştir.
