Abstract
Osteitis pubis is a painful, non-infectious inflammatory condition of the symphysis pubis and surrounding adjacent structures. It should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of lower pelvic pain and should be sought in cases of pelvic insufficiency fractures. In this paper, we present a case of a 65-year-old man with osteitis pubis following prostatectomy for benign prostatic hypertrophy and we review pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of this rare condition.
Özet
Osteitis pubis, simfisis pubis ve çevresindeki dokuları etkileyen, enfeksiyöz olmayan, enflamatuvar, ağrılı bir hastalıktır. Pelvik ağrı ve pelvik yetmezlik kırıklarının ayırıcı tanısında göz önünde tutulması gerekmektedir. Bu yazıda; altmış beş yaşında, selim prostat hiperplazisi nedeniyle yapılan prostatektomi sonrası gelişen bir osteitis pubis olgusu sunulmuş ve bu nadir durumun patofizyoloji, tanı ve tedavisi tartışılmıştır.
