Zygomycosis of the maxiller sinus ( Case report )

Abstract
The agent of zygomycosis which is also known as mucormycosis and phycomycosis is a fungi from zygomycetes class. Its clinical manifestations are cutenous, systemic and rhinocerebral infection. Most common form is rhinocerebral which is generally lethal. Rapid spread to orbita and brain is observed. Immunosupression due to chemotherapeutic drugs and metabolic diseases is the background where mucor infection is observed.
Özet
Fikomikosis olarak da bilinen zigomikosis etkeni, zigomiçetes sınıfına ait bir fungustur. Klinikte kutanöz, subkutanöz, sistemik ve rinoserebral enfeksiyon geliştiren formlar şeklinde görülmektedir. En sık görülen formu rinoserebral formudur. Oldukça letal bir hastalıktır. Hastalık hızla orbita ve beyine yayılır. Genellikle kemoterapötik ilaçlar ya da metabolik bozukluklar ile genel direnci değişmiş hastalarda oportunistik bir enfeksiyöz ajan olan mukor patojenik özellik kazanır.
