An alternative anti-HIV confirmation method: Line immunoassay

Abstract

In this study, we examined 46 serum samples by line immunoassay which were anti-HIV positive both by enzyme immunoassay and western blot tests. Another 24 serum samples which were positive by enzyme immunoassay but negative by western blot were also examined by line immunoassay. All western blot positive 46 samples were found positive by line immunoassay (sensitivity: 100%). All western blot negative samples were also negative by line immunoassay (specificity: 100%).

Özet

Bu çalışmada, hem enzyme immunoassay hem de western blot ile anti-HIV saptanan 46 serum örneğini line immunoassay yöntemi ile değerlendirdik. Ayrıca enzyme immunoassay ile anti-HIV olumlu, western blot ile olumsuz bulunan 24 serum örneğini de line immunoassay ile değerlendirdik. Western blot olumlu 46 serumun tümü line immunoassay ile olumlu bulundu (duyarlılık: %100). Western blot olumsuz örneklerin tümü line immunoassay ile de olumsuz bulundu (özgüllük: %100 ).
