Histopathologic evaluation of the changes formed by temporary aneurysmal clipping in the rat carotid artery

Abstract

In this study, we investigated the natural course of the morphological regeneration of the endo-thelium and smooth muscle of the rat carotid artery after clipping injury. Vascular damage was produced by clipping the left carotid arteries of Spaque-Dawley rats. Endothelial regrowth started within 24 hours and fastest on the third and fourth days after injury. The endothelial injury was repaired within 5 days. These findings sug-gest that endothelial regrowth is completed within a week after clipping injury, where as smooth muscle cell regrowth is slower.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, klip incinmesinden sonra sıçan karotid arterinin düz kas ve endotelyumunun morfolojik rejenerasyonunun doğal seyri araştırıldı. Vasküler hasar Spaque-Dawley cinsi sıçanların sol karotid arterlerinde klips tarafından oluşturuldu. Endotelyal iyileşme 24 saat içinde başladı ve incinmeden sonraki üçüncü ve dördüncü günlerde en hızlıydı. Endotelyal yıkım 5 gün içinde onarıldı. Bu bulgular klips yaralanmasından sonra endotelyal iyileşmenin bir hafta içinde tamamlandığını göstermiştir, oysa düz kas hücrelerinin iyileşmesi daha yavaştır.
