Abstract

Since asbestosis is a late presenting and chronic disease, early diagnosis is curcial. In this study, 33 asymptomatic asbest workers that have worked with asbest for 3 to 25 years are examined by High Resolution CT, and findings were compared with ILO scores and the results of respiratory function tests. Conclusively, it is observed that pleuro-paranchimal irregularity is an early prompt of asbestosis and paranchimal changes are detected much earlier with HRCT.

Özet

Asbestozis geç semptom veren, kronik bir hastalık olduğundan erken tanı son derece önemlidir. Bu çalışmada 3-25 yıl asbest ile çalışmış 33 asemptomatik asbest işçisi Yüksek Rezolüsyonlu BT ile incelenmiş, bulgular ILO skorları ve solunum fonksiyon testleri sonuçları ile karşılaştmlmıştır. Sonuçta plöro-parankimal düzensizliğin erken uyarıcı bir bulgu olduğu, parankimal değişikliklerin YRBT ile çok daha erken saptandığı görülmüştür.
